An ITS Supported Computer is a machine that is owned by the University of Chicago and leased to a user for a certain amount of time. These leases expire every three years.
Leasing a computer is often a more economical option than buying a new machine for an employee. Another leasing advantage is that in the case of hardware failure, spare equipment will be provided.
An IT Services supported computer may not be used to store Payment Card Information or Protected Health Information.
